the reason it was never working for you was that in your profile you had "Always allow BBCode" toggled to no, I have toggled it to yes for you.
You could also turn it on/off post by post with the "Disable BBCode in this post" option below the posting window."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
