chainset wear ?

right is this worn out and in need of a replacement crankset or not, the surface feels pitted and not really very clever:

I know i should probably have kept an eye on the bottom bracket, but i didnt, oops.

    No it should be fine. Looks like your bottom bracket seized causing the spindle to grind on the bearing cup. Just superficial scratching by the looks of it.
