My cassette seems to have actually dug in to the aluminium freehub body on my pro 2 hub. Is there any way to remove the hub & will I have to replace the free hub body?

Yes and probably not....
You usually need two chain whips to get the cassette of if it has bitten into the freehub, then radially deburr the freehub body and they're usually fine after that.0 -

Hold one sprocket while untwisting the other, start with the smallest and then work our way up one at a time.
Then either get a cassette with an alloy spider or get a steel freehub body.0 -

But don't worry, according to Hope it's just cosmeticUncompromising extremist0

unfortunately all Sunrace cassettes use separate cogs and spacers.
Hope state XT and above cassettes (one that have a built in carrier to spread the load)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Don't the spiders only carry the largest 5 sprockets, so you'll still get the smallest 4 or 5 sprockets digging into the freehub body ?0

depends on the cassette. model and year, some have more on the carrier some have more than one carrier."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
