Hi,

I was out on Saturday and my rear gear cable snapped. I took the cable off but unfortunately when I got home the cable bolt had fallen off as I hadn't tightened it back up :(

I've found the part number (Y5VG98050) on the Shimano website but the only hits I'm getting on Google are from the US. Does anyone have any ideas? I've got a few old bikes in the garage but I didn't want to try stcking any old bolt into my Ultegra rear mech :)

Thanks,

Ben

  • Thanks for looking!!

I've ordered a new winter bike and I'll probably have that before the 25th :D

I'll remember to tighten my bolts next time

A decent LBS will have a stash - mechanics tend to strip trashed mechs of adjusters and clamp screws precisely for this reason. BTW - they are generally a standard thread
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
