Hi folks,

After being off the bike for 15 months due to a torn calf, and then needing spinal surgery, I'm on the mend and looking to get my bike back on the road again this weekend.

Question is, what do i need to do in order to get it roadworthy again? I guess I'll need nrw tyres and nines, to lunge the bike and check to ensure rverything's as it should be. Anything else?

It's a Giant TCR1 with full 105 group set.

Thanks in advance

In theory - you don't need anything. Just depends on what condition you left the bike.

But if it hasn't been serviced in a long while - consider all new cables, brake pads, new chain, new tyers and oil up any moving parts.

You can probably get by with making sure the chain is oiled - and check the cables aren't worn out. If anything feels tights or makes noise - it may need service (like headsets, bottom brackets, etc).

    (That's what I would do)

pump up the tyres and ride it. Lubricate anything that squeaks.
  • Thanks folks!

I'd only had it a few months before i git injured, and only put a few hundred miles on it, so perhaps it doesn't need anything after all. I'll see how I get on!
