Mech Adjustment?? How Do I Do It?

Both mech's on my bike seem to need adjusted and I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a how-to article on adjusting them?
I'd take it to the LBS to get done but I'd sooner learn to do it myself and save a few ££

First thing to do is check your cables are clean, lubed and your outers still in good condition. A lot of indexing problems are actually the cables getting stuck in the outer.0

The cable seem to be moving pretty freely, I think it's down to cable stretch as the bike hasn't had that much use since new so I imagine the cables are just bedding in!0
