hi guys, im building my DH rig up for winter, and im using my codes from my hardtail, i only had the rear on my hardtail and the front brake has been sitting around for a year or so, recently i fitted goodridge hoses to the brakes but never bothered to bleed the front one as i wasn't using it.
My problem is, is that when trying to push fluid from the caliper up from the caliper to the lever, there is no free movent of fluid, it's as if the clip on the suringe is closed when its not, just something won't let the fluid through. Fitted the back one a while ago and it bled through fine and had no probs, so im not sure whats the problem with the front.
Any ideas??

cheers ben

    damaged hose?
stuck piston in the lever assy? lever in the correct position?

  • hose is new and not damaged,
    levers in the right position,
got to strip the lever tommorow and see if the pistons stuck but just wondered if it could be anything else really.

I had a similar issue with my juicy 7s. Turned out if you wind out the pad adjustment all the way it sometimes blocks the reservoir off. If you maybe turn it so it's half open/closed it opens up the valve and fluid can get through. Might have been the way mine were setup but I dismantled the lever and tweaked the mechanism inside so that it was part open.

Hope it helps, think codes have the allen key pad adjuster thing?
  • ah nice one mate ill try that first then, erm well they have the pad contact adjuster knob if thats what you mean?

Your lever piston is stuck forwards. Because of the spring it feels OK to work the lever but it really is not. When not being used the hydraulic fluid tends to go jelly-like and gummy. Just been there, done that.

Not really anything to do with lever clamped, adjuster, or anything else.
