  • greta song, great band. Saw them in Manchester in about 87 (I think) with The Pocket Rockets in support (Paul Cook on drums).
    How about Medicine Show?

You are right... I had forgotten this one. I have a copy of the album somewhere and will now dig it out. 'Medicine Show' is another of my favourites.
    Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)
    Giant Anthem X4 (2010) GT Avalanche 1.0 (2010)
Kingley Vale and QECP Trail Collective - QECP Trail Building
  • Great album! I think Don letts used to colour code his keyboard or something along those lines for the live shows. Saw them back in the day @ Ritzy's in Aberdeen great gig.

Along with Sputnik, PWEI, & the JAMMS/KLF their use of sampling film clips etc was superb. There was some really great music about around that time.

Sample it, Loop it, F##k up & Eat it.
  • Ok....on Medicine show.....who are the two cops at the open of the video?

  • I loved that song - it made it all the way to New Zealand but sadly I was the only one I knew who bought the album. It's still a great song today.

  • Mick Jones had a band called Carbon/Silicon - never heard anything by them, dunno if they were any good. Were they any good?
  • Crabon/Silicone were pretty good, I got the album and while you can't say that it's a big leap forward from what Jones has been doing since The Clash it's still a good listen. He set the band up with Tony James (GenX/SSSputnik). Worth having a look for.

I would be interested to know if anyone has seen carbon silicone live!

That first BAD album though is better than anything by the Clash - easily.

  • Saw BAD at a big anti-apartheid demo on Clapham Common back in about 1985ish. Awesome.

    Jones' Carbon/Silicon are/were a superb racket....

I believe he's currently working and touring with Gorillaz at the moment.

I don't know if I'd go that far! but when BAD and Cut The Crap came out at just about the same time it was pretty obvious which was the better album. (it wasn't Cut The Crap by the way).

Watched Jones and Simonon play with Gorillaz on the BBC coverage of Glastonbury. They're still cool as flip especially when dressed as U-boat commanders.
