  • Is this Emma Pooley, professional cyclist, Olympic silver medallist, Cambridge graduate, now studying for a PhD in something proper hard (geotechnical engineering - well, sound hard) in Switzerland?

    Yeah, she's pretty cool.

That ring of hers looks like she'd whip ITB in Mahoosive Ring Wars every day of the week and twice on Sunday...
Swim. Bike. Run. Yeah. That's what I used to do.

That is a dinky P3 though. Or is it just the size of the ring throwing the scale off?

Dunno. Pesky UCI commissaires telling us what is and what is not a bike. Gah!

The RR course may favour Armitstead. She has a better sprint from a group. We'll see. We have a strong team for the women's RR this year :D

Excellent race for Pooley. Longo, though, outstanding for completely different reasons - she certainly lives up to her name.

many chapeaux to Emma, particularly as it comes at the end of an excellent year.

Not so impressed with BR as it hasn't made it to the news page when even the beeb had it as a main article ages ago
