Well thats the summer bike away for the winter!!

Time to get the MTB out again i guess, what i cant figure out is why after only a couple of months of commuting on this, i now have two wheels to true, and a bent rack on top of usual sevrving, whats that about? i only commute 2-3 miles aday, so what have i done wrong? am i overloading what is essentially a road bike?
Bike one Dawes Acoma (heavily modified)
Bike two (trek) Lemond Etape (dusty and not ridden much)
Bike Three Claude Butler chinook, (freebee from
Freecycle, Being stripped and rebuilt
(is 3 too many bikes)

    The bike is fine, but wheels in particular can take a beating on poor roads, especially if the spokes aren't tensioned correctly. Have a go at truing them yourself, if they aren't damaged it should be ok.
