Advice on folding bikes?

Any thoughts on folding bikes? Some people commute to the station and get on a train, especially around London. London trains only allow folding bikes during rush hour so its essential to be a folder....any more thoughts? :?

    I like em, commuted on a birdy for years.

    if you want a good fold buy a brompton, if you want a bike like ride that folds occasionally or not as well look elsewhere.


    you could look in the special interest bit of the road section.

    Depends on how far you're riding.

    Short-ish distances / lowish speed: get a Brompton.

    Longer distances: Brompton would be OK but not as fast as some alternatives.

    Or have a cheap commuter hack you leave at the station overnight and weekends ...Marylebone bike racks are rammed at the weekends!
