Started off looking like this when I picked it up for £33...

I then stripped it of parts...it was pretty rusty and in bad shape...

Then stripped it of paint...

It then went to the powder coaters for a while...

I put a few bits on it...

Then finished it off, for £180...

  • Nice one! What a beautiful looking bike.

Did you re-use the rear light it came with? looks like it takes a good few batteries....

I remember those! Full of enormous heavy Ever Readys that never lasted that long and didn't have the power to put any light on the road! If there is one revelation over the last 30 years, forget modern shifting systems - it's decent lights.

Lovely effort on the bike! Glad you didn't spoil it by binning the gears! Rear mudguard wants a bit of a tweak though (I spend ages getting the guards spot on on my Dawes  )
    Faster than a tent.......
  • I like to see someone not building up an old bike as a fixed wheel. Unusual these days...

FCN 3 or 4 on road depending on clothing
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.
