Rear Derailleur Cage Size

The Rear Derailleur on my 2007 Hardrock Pro Disc is shot and needs replaced.

How do i know what cage size to buy ?

From looking at pics i think its the long cage i need but im not sure.

  • Thanks, My other question is my current Derailleur is a SRAM X5 can i change it for a SRAM X7 ?

    Is it hard to fit a Derailleur ?

    Yes you can.

    No it's not hard. Just takes a bit of fine-tuning to get the indexing right. Plenty of vids on Youtube on how to index.
  • I just noticed my derailleur is a sx5 is there a difference between the sx5 and the x5 ?

    And can i change a sx5 for a x5 derailleur.

    Sorry i realise these questions are probably stupid but i don't wont to buy the wrong thing.

    Any Sram numbered dérailleur will work fine.
