    Used an X-Lite and a Hope Doctor and in my opinion the X-Lite is much easier to set up. The Hope Doctor was very fiddly and a real PITA to tighten for whatever reason. The X -Lite was easy to install, tighten and leave alone. Never had any problems with it slipping or loosening regardless of where I was riding. I was very happy with it - and it does look great :D

    If you've already got a star nut fitted though it might be cheaper to just buy a 'bling' top cap instead of the whole plug.

    No hesitstion recommending the X-Lite though if that's what you're after.

    my advice with things of this nature:

    {big d adopts wise sage mode compete with pipe for gesticulating}

    fit a starnut, use a proper top cap to preload your bearings then once the stem bolts are nipped up, remove and replace with you favorite looking bit of kit as at this point it is no longer reqired to hold any tension nd you dont have to rely on an unreliable bit of kit .

    take my advice and enjoy many years of lovely headset life thanks to big d.
