I know I know I already have a new bike BUT I was intending to selling my Dave Quinn frame now that i've stripped it down, however I thought I'd have a look in the parts boxes and guess what...?

I had enough stuff to build a complete bike, so I did :D

You can't see it from these photos but the spec is

1980s Raleigh / Dave Quinn 531 steel frame
NOS 1" aero carbon forks
New 1" Mpart headset
FSA 110mm stem
Easton 50 42cm bars
Campagnolo 9 speed QS shifters
Campagnolo 10 speed Mirage Std crankset 53/39
SRAM 8 speed chain
Shimano SPD pedals
Shimano friction front derailleur
Shimano 105 rear mech 7/8 speed
New Miche brakeset
Shimano Dura Ace 27.2mm seatpost (no clamp)
(I have a generic 27.2mm Alu seatpost & saddle at work)
New seat clamp pin

Wheels currently are
Generic rear rim rebuild with Shimano 7 speed freehub
Alex rim front with track hub (ex LiT)
(I have a very nice hand built Mavic open pro CD with stronglight front wheel at work)

See ...

Bit of a beast and clearly needs a respray but not bad for a rummage in the garage.

Jeez, i know you're a bit doped up at the moment but try to concentrate on what you're supposed to be doing.

That 531 frame's had more comeback than Frank Sinatra

Ya I love that frame it's so comfy to ride, not as light as the Mercian but the geometry really fits me.

A tad Frankenstein's bike, but as you say, not bad for a rummage. Now back to the Ribble.

That is pretty cool for a rummage and build. I wish I had enough parts to do that, I find tinkering so much fun when I get the time :D

So that's a, what, 53x13 you'd be riding? I'm sure I remember you saying something about there being hills in Wiltshire.

BTW, do you want that Miche BB back ITB? I won't have much use for it myself. I also need to buy/borrow a Campy tool to remove it.

Yeh the crankset is temp. and yes the BB would be very useful it'll save me messing with spacer for my perfect chainline.

I have the tools just not the strength to remove it
