    Assos. :D
    It works for me.
It helps me on longer rides.
    Do your own thing...

Anyone seen the bit in the 'Hell on Wheels' DVD where Erik Zabel's soigneur brings his shorts in just before the days racing...?
    Now that's creaming up....

However don't mix up the chamoius cream with warm up cream. Just ask David Harmon. !

Another vote for Assos here, I find it superb all round and great on long rides.

Assos. Running low on the stuff too. Normally buy in bulk from Wiggle but they're out and not expecting more till end of September.

I quite like the Chamois Butter but it's not as goo as Assos, However the "Centuary Riding Cream" is my personal fave!

I use if off roa for our 24hr races where showering is...erm...irregular, and in the winter where inevitably things get wet and muddy sooner or later!

Sudocrem for rides of under 4 hours, Assos over 4 hours (or 2 when its really hot). Which kind of balances sensible expenditure against function....

If you are a saddle sore sufferer (which is mostly about skin type and staphylococcus carrier state), then you need something antiseptic and to keep friction down.

If you're lucky enough not to be a sufferer....you won't understand!
I'm not saying pedestrians in Hackney are stupid.. but a fixed bayonet would be more use than a fixed gear...
  • Assos, only the best for my "friction area".

    Being a Yorkshireman,

Beef Dripping - or, lard, if none about.

    Or, Assos.

    Assos or Sudocrem here also.

Sudocrem is a wonder product for the winter, as its water resistance is amazing. However in the summer, I find that a bit overkill and prefer the lighter Assos.

Shouldn't the temperature down there be 37 anyway ?

Haven't really ever tried chamois cream. On my first rides back when I started everyone was using Vaseline down below and that's what I've used. Big cheap tubs.

Chafe-eze is the stuff I use. From Nature's kiss in NZ via Wiggle.

I don't think it makes much difference but I like applying it.

    Is that wrong?

yes, core body temperature will be 37 +/-, but on a hot day you sweat more which with other products I have used in the past means they lose some of their effectiveness. IMO Sudocrem is more oily than something like Assos so it kept doing what it was supposed to be doing all day.

Only use it for long rides, otherwise I don't bother. Have been known to grease my nethers with vasoline but that had nothing to do with cycling.
