Hi All
I'm collecting my new bike tomorrow. What do I need to check before I take it out of the shop?
Thanks

Everything goes round that should and the bits that don't go round, don't.

Spin the wheels and check the brakes work.

Make sure they help you adjust it to fit.

If you can, take it for a short test ride and go up and down the gears.

If you have the time, ask for the seat height & bars height / rotation to be set to a position that suits you. There's more chance of it being close to how it should be that way, rather than you doing trial & error later on.

Give it a good visual check for annoying things like scratches, marks etc. If nothing else when you go back with it for its first service you won't be accused of mistreating it if there are any marks on it when you do.

As soon as you can, remove the pedals and check that the threads have been greased lightly. If not, apply some. You'll be glad you did one day.
