Stem swapped out for a FSA stem in white with 6 deg.
DT Swiss 1450 Mon Chasseral wheelset purchased ready to be used for competition.

The frame has the right amount of stiffness but also gives an excellent ride quality and is responsive especially climbing.
Previously just ridden alu frames and there is a significant improvement in 'comfort' and I do not miss the 'road buzz'.
The Ultegra shifting is precise and dependable and a real noticeable difference to Tiagra.
The brakes have a clean and progressive stopping power. Perhaps the stock pads are not the best but are entirely adequate to keep until replacment necessary.
It took a long time to choose this bike and only time will tell if I have made the best call for my money.
All in all I am happy.
Now, white bar tape, who thought that a good idea.............?

    I know.... everything initially is 'work in progress'....stem is on the 'correct' way now and picture updated - well I hope it is ... :D
    This bike feels about spot on now and the test will be in a few weeks time in 1st race of season

    now with amended bar tape/hoods and a thank you to BIKEMAN.COM from Maine US of A for the replacement 6700 flightdeck covers for a very competive price and shipment ( who can get Shimano 6700 spares in the UK ? no one, thats who)

    Cheers for the comments.. all I can add is don't do as I do and
    go over handlebars with bike barely 4 weeks on the clock,
    still it is lovingly restored and testament to the build qual of the Cannondales,as it passed the quality integrity check for the frame and forks with flying colours.
    The stock DT Swiss 1900 wheels deserve some credit as well.... I dont think the 1400 Mon Chasserals would have survived the ordeal in such good order so lucky I wasnt riding with them on at the time.

    The HUDZ 'do' fit ... not ideal I know , but nothing impedes... and will do until HUDZ do a specific 6700 hood .... the originals had deep gouges in them .. created probably by my hand in the crash.... never knew it was broke until the nurse said it was... 8)

    the bike shop did it for me as I needed to have the bike inspected for any poss damage and he did a pretty good job imo

    oh not a mirror ... just a smoke and mirrors trick.. it's the label behind on the honeysuckle..

    I never give a toss whats behind me really :wink:

    I too own a Synapse and IM delighted with it.

    Not keen on those red Hudz though. Id have stuck with black :wink:

    I have put white Fizik bar tape back on.. looks a lttle better... as I had another little incident a few weeks back...but the red Hudz seem very robust and they are comfy for me as well, but will have to wait until they come out with proper 6700 white covers at some time and then wait until I have another little incident.

    Wow, you did some steerer cutting - looks a lot better.
    The black chainring looks better too, the silver ring on black crank arms looked suspicious. 38 makes a great inner ring. 34s are a bit wank to be honest if you're racing.
    Thanks for taking off the white warning sticker on the seatpost, but I'd put the white measureing line back on, the blue looks off.
    You rotated your bars way up? Was this a by-product of perhaps over-cutting your steerer? :-) Rotating upwards is great for riding on the hood but it's useless for grabbing the brake levers when in the drops. I know, I've been playing with this trade-off tons on my CX bike recently.

    When I rode it, I had to turn bars down a bit :wink: it's a trade off on the slacker geometry of the Synapse as opposed to the super6.
    No problem braking and changing on the drops however.

    Somebody had expressed interest in buying tho' and getting a bit torn as to whether to let it go in the New Year.
