I like lists, I regularly make a list. So I got to thinking lets share our shopping lists the stuff we intend to buy over the coming months:

Kharma
Wheels
Pair of GP 4000s
Lizard skin bar tape
Garmin
Service

SCR
1 4 season tyre
Full service or 105 gruppo
Front light

General
Cliff bars
Innertubes
3 base layers
2 tights, 1 full length bib, 1 3/4bib, 2 or 3 3/4 length shorts
Jerseys (both short and long sleve)
Winter coat and gloves
Food Chain number = 4

A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game

    Need to buy:

    Single speed chain
    Front Brake caliper
    Brake lever
some style of handlebar that is useable - pista bars are too extreme for commuting!
  • Pair of Durano's to replace Marathon Plus's

Front light - not sure whether to go for a 'torch' or push the boat on something from Exposure

Contemplating a new bike - may Alfine equipped

Don't really need anything else, such a bummer.

I'm thinking of getting the SCR stuff fast in and amongst the general stuff and then tackling the Kharma the closer we get to the end of the year/In the new year...

  • I do need a new rear light, as now I have two bikes I need one on each. I never remember to swap things around. Now, as always that does open up some decisions - Do I just get the simple one, or do I get the new MagicShine rear light and blind all the drivers coming up behind me. That does sound like fun...

I may get some Mk2 Roadracers, as they do seem significantly better than Mk1s. Other than that, I don't need anything, and I won't be able to afford any of the things I merely want for quite a while.

    You're drafting me Sir!

You can get the flip flop hub from Fixie Inc - if you want to pm me I'll give you all the details including the spoke lengths that you'll need. They also sell other ratios on the rear Gates drive.
FCN 5 belt driven fixie for city bits
CAADX 105 beastie for bumpy bits
    Litespeed L3 for Strava bits

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

Once I get the CtW sorted at work (should be next week) and my leg is better (god only knows). I plan to get

Trek 1.5 or Trek Pilot 2.0 - or something else nice - depends on how the test rides go.

Plus suitable locks and lights (undecided as yet)

then the Dahon becomes the winter bike/ cargo bike with the addition of some Ortlieb Panniers

    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/ort ... ry=ortlieb

    and probably some new tyres

    Ortlieb classic Panniers.
    .
Size 57 (fits me fine and I usually am 56)

    Looking for 500 - 600 quid . . .

PM me if you're interested .. . sorry for the thread hijack!

The commuting bike might need a new chain or something in the next few months, it's not a problem

On the other hand, at the end of the season the audax bike was needing a new set of bearings in the BB or a new BB, a new headset as even Hope headsets don't last forever and a lot of work on the wheels. The front wheel has some kind of sharp edge on the inside rim and/or needs a new rim tape and will spontaneously puncture at high temperatures. High temperatures occur when the brakes are used a lot. When descending a long fast road for example. Not good. The rear wheel has a shit hub in it and I just started building a better one last night.

However, when I was cleaning this bike the other night I discovered a crack in the frame, so now I need a new frame. Or to put it another way I may as well get a new best bike.

    Pictures of the crack here

The Hewitt Alpine looks like a nice bike

Cheers, I'll PM you for Fixie Inc details. Was thinking about Surly hubs before because of the width. Currently running an Alfine rear hub I built up a couple of months before, just need another challenge I guess. Not sure yet if I'll use stock District rim or if I'll use a completey different set.
But don't wory about drafting, I doubt I can find your rear wheel from Holland

    For the SuperSix

    SRAM Force groupset
Some nice wheels, maybe Soul S2.0s or some nice handbuilts
    Some nice tyres

    For the winter trainer Peugeot

    New front tyre
Maybe a Centaur rear derailleur and Cassette
    Possibly a new paint job
    New forks
    New headset

    For the hack

    New chainset
    New chain

Have no cash until end October/November, though. I can see this being a long and drawn-out process.
