I have Simano Ultegra R6600 wheels. The front has developed a bit of roughness after only 3000 km or so of use. I opened it up to find plenty of grease and pefect looking bearings. After cleaning and inspection the rumble comes from a pitted section on one of the cones.

I thought, no problem, I'll head down to my LBS and get a replacement. It turns out after much consulting with Madison that the replacement part is actually the whole axle assembly, which retails for a whopping £99, nearly as much as a new wheel!

Has anyone got any ideas where I can get a replacement cone from?
