Hi,

I've found a nice route on bikely.com that goes near my house, but the startpoint is miles away and so I wonder if I can change the startpoint somehow so it starts at the nearest point to my place?... or perhaps I don't need to do that... if I just upload the route, start it up in the garmin will it just start me onto the nearest point anyway, or will it try and direct me to the start and then begin the route from there?

New to all this!

Thanks
Simon

Ask Garmin to direct you to the "end" (if that's the correct direction, ot "start" if the other) and it will not expect you to go back to the beginning, no....

Feeling scared in the hairy bikers MTB section.

    Heres what you do.

    Save the route.

    goto here

    http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx

Upload the route and drag the start and end points to where you want.

Then click on the Summary tab and either save it to a file (.tcx i sbetter), or choose to send it youe garmin.

Thats it I'm off to the comfort of the roadies.

    Hope that helps

What is the difference tcx versus gpx?

Garmin likes tcx better. It can contain more info for a smaller file size.
