Campag shifting problems

I have an increasing and rather frustrating shifting problem. My campag veloce levers (18 months old) seem to have lost their spring.
When I shift from 4th to 5th I can end up in as low as 8th gear. It is only when I'm on the big ring up front and only between 5th and 8th but the thumb shifter doesn't click back into position when I click it between gears, it seems as though it is slipping or bypassing some of the teeth on the shifter.
Seriously annoying can anyone recommend anything?
I have some degreasing spray and thoroughly cleaned out the lever so it's not a build up of dirt/grime.

sounds like the ratchet is gone, drop them into your local campy service centre or strip them down and order the appropriate part from mercian cycles.0
