crunching noises

hi, road bike has suddenly started making a crunching noise as soon as i go uphill or apply more pressure to the pedals, any ideas please cheers, i do a 22 mile daily commute so bike gets well used :roll:

    Bottom bracket dying or needs bearings replacing. Pedal bearings same thing. Could be a simple regreasing issue, if you jet wash your bike or use a degreaser around those areas the grease soon wears off and you end up with a grating noise.
