Check this out - it's only Monday, and already a thread is up for next weekend's RPCC ride - I think that's a record... :lol: Is anyone around, or has everyone buggered off on holiday now that I'm back?

Itching to get out as I've been off the bike for about a month now.

So who's up for a ride on Saturday, Sunday or both??

As always; anyone welcome, speed in the region of 17mph average, we wait at the top of hills and expect to cover 60 miles +

    Cool - good stuff. I'm not around this week but am definitely in for putting some miles in at the weekend.

    Good stuff - so that's three already and we're still on Monday... We'll have a peloton at this rate :lol:

    Saturday at 8am is good with me but I'll probably pop out on Sunday as well

    Splendid. So, that's 3 for Saturday and 2 for Sunday. We can treat it as a post-TdF celebration, climbing the mighty hairpin bends of Box Hill in homage to the 100th anniversary of the Tourmalet's inclusion and in memory of Brad's career :lol:

    A friend of mine and I would happily join.
    I've been on RPCC last year, and I know I can do the distance/speed on the flat.
    Just don't want to be a pain on the hills; though I'm better than last year, I've had to take 2 months off the bike due to injury, so I'm not the fastest.

    Worth case scenario, if we feel we're holding you guys back, we can let you know and finish on our own.

    Saturday or Sunday for us, 8AM sounds good.

    Great. Saturday's looking like the preferred option at the moment - and no worries about speed, everyone's pretty relaxed. Hopefully the rain will stay away...

    Forum newbie here, I'd be up for 60ish miles on Saturday, not sure I can keep up that pace, especially up hills and with my steel frame, but I'd bring my iPhone in case I needed to drop off and fend for myself.

    Welcome! And it will be good to see another new face at the weekend.If we get a decent sized bunch, you can always hide in the middle and get pulled along (that's if we manage to organise ourselves properly for once...)

    So what about the other regulars? Will? James? Berns?

    Got they cycling bug recently, but my mate's are useless at getting out on rides, and my commute is too short.

    Bondurant, 8am sounds, erm, early. Any chance we can have a wee lie in on the Sunday? Would prefer an 8.30 or 9.00 but will go with the majority

    3stripe - RPCC stands for Richmond Park Cycling Club, which is a way too formal name to describe a loosely arranged collection of cyclists like us. It has, however, been going in various guises for a couple of years having originated on this forum when some of us were trying to organise training rides but couldn't commit to a regular Sunday club... It's a cycling club for the digital age :lol:

    In fact, that sparked my saddo geek interest so I had a trawl through the archives and it seems that this weekend could almost be seen as the two-year anniversary of RPCC. Kind of...

    Sorry! Thought 8am was standard. A little later suits me much better (new boy error).

    I'd rather 8AM to be honest, the earlier in, the earlier back, to keep the missus happy :)

    Not to worry fella - although without your navigational skills god knows where we might end up..

    Anyone else own a Garmin?

    There's the odd .gpx out there which I can upload to Bikely if it helps.

    Definitely up for the CCC ride by the way, just have to stock up on brownie points.

    I've got a garmin...never used the maps function on it though :o But I'm sure I can make a 60mile round trip to/from RP. :-)

    Okay, here we go...

    This is a route that Will recorded a while ago of one of the standard routes we do. There's always the option to add Ranmore at the end as well for another climb if the legs are still in need of a workout.

    Sarge, CCC is Capital-Coast-Capital, a ride down to Worthing and back. It's about 120 miles and reputedly a very nice run (I've yet to do it.) There should be a decent-sized group of us and people can catch a train back if they're that way inclined.
