Hi guys,
I'll be in Northumberland for 1 week in Setember (somewhere near Alnwick) - any suggestions for some routes, closer to the coast (not Kielder - too far to get to)?
thank you al!

Thrunton woods are good, about 15 mins from Alnwick.

Thrunton Woods definately worth a try with so many routes in woods, Simonside is also worth a ride as well.

Yep, Thrunton, heard of that... I'm in! Take it there are no established trails as such, just go and ride-type-of thing?

  • Hi, I live in Alnwick! Lots of enjoyable riding in the area! As mentioned above Thrunton woods is good, I would recommend you go to Alwinton, do some riding in the Cheviot hills, it is great! Try and get a copy of the book "Mountain bike guide - Northumberland" by Derek Purdy, lots of rides in this covering the whole area, from the Cheviot hills to the coast.
