I could ask my husband to have a gander but I want to do it myself... please no rolling of eyes at the simple question

My front right brake pad is rubbing the wheel. Please could somebody tell me how I go about adjusting the position?

TIA

the wheel looks like it needs to be trued again !!! Only a few weeks since I last had it done. The brakes are Dual pivot long reach on sora shifters.

no its rubbing where the wheel is out of line. I presume that can move the brake out to stop it rubbing till I can get the wheel trued?

Why not check this site out for a guide:

I think they can explain things better than me. Get the pads as close to the rim as you can. Next you could consider fixing the kink in the wheel yourself, not as complicated as it initially seems.

But do a search there are loads of guides on how to true a wheel.

OK then you should have a small cross point screw on there somewhere. this is the centreing screw and a bit of twiddling either way will move the centre of the pads a little either way.

If it rubs on both sides of the rim at different points round the wheel, it need truing.
Getting a wheel true is one problem, getting it to stay true is another. If your bike shop can't do it, try another.

If it rubs on the same side most of the way round the rim, the brake caliper need centreing. There's a small screw on the top of the caliper on the opposite side to the cable clamp that is used for centreing. You will very likely have to adjust the cable tightness at the same time.

My wife straightens our wheels so if she can do it I'm sure you can. Have a look at the Park Tool website links as see how it's done.
