One of my first posts after lurking for a while.Thought i would share some photos of my board man,try to follow the photo code but arranging the bike perfectly against the garage door and then taking photos probably made the neighbours think wtf?

Only a few changes from stock really

Ritchey wcs carbon seatpost
Ritchey wcs stem and bars
Specilized toupe team saddle
Continental GP4000S tyres(not shown in photo, spent ages getting the name to line up with valve  )
cateye strada double wireless(not shown in photo)
Two ebay special carbon cages(£22 for the pair, better than £30-£40 each for branded ones  )

Plus some little bits like white bar tape and red bolts here and there plus some red hudz(not shown in photo)

I rather like that - the bog std Team Carbon is a bit too 'black all over' for my liking (from a pure tart's point of view)

  • What sized chainring bolts have you used? I got some for my Team Carbon but they were too small!

Are those stem caps used as bar ends? I like your style!

They look quality, just like stem caps and not like the usual plastic bar end jobs.

  • Ha! I've been looking at those carbon bottle cages too! Can they take 1 litre bottles do you know? Or just the 750ml like all the other ridiculously overpriced ones?
  • Welcome to the club, boardman team carbon club that is
some nice subtle changes / extras.

do the hex bolts in the bar end caps serve a purpose?

i often lose my bar end caps as my tape pops them out
    Crafted in Italy apparantly

Sorry for late reply guys been down in Exmoor for the week.

Acidstrato the hex bolts are for tightening up a wedge that pushes against the inside of the bar to hold it into place

DrKawaszelong the cages do take 1l bottles as i tried my lucozade ones in it just to see if they did fit.

The colour coded bolts, end plugs and chainring bolts can also be found at KCNC a really good company that i can fully recommend have purchased loads of parts from there excellant customer service (even Carlos Sastrie appears to be using them on his road bike : see this weeks cycling weekly!) Hope also do these but i find kcnc better , although that is just my opinion. Bike looks the bollocks mate nice to have a change from the standard bike as already said..

If you go onto KCNC website then you can see the diff types of everything from bolts to plugs and caps in the three brands sizes campag, shimano and sram and if you want things like chain bolts then look in each page until you see the type of arm you use be it a 4 arm or a five version they are there and there is a contact number if you get stuck!
  • I'm thinking of doing the same to my boardman team carbon but with gold instead of red.

Will it go do you think, I'm a bit hesitant.

What are the exact names of your bar ends?

What weight is the bike at now?
  • Oh,

And what size is it to?
