    I quite fancy a Rockhopper.

Wonder if I can convince the wife I need a new bike
Then convince work that I can cycle the 40 mile round trip if I got C2W scheme

Spesh seemed to have upped the ante in the battle for the worst paintjobs / bike graphics over the past 2-3 years :o

I cycle a 35 mile round trip. Just don't tell them you actually catch the train in the mornings every now and then
  • Acuallly Super Light is not far out. It is an abbreviation for 'superleggera' which is Italian for (you guessed it) 'super light', so if you prefer to say super light go for it.

You will find this expression a lot with supercars from Ferrari and Lambo.

Be interested to know if anyone has an opinion on the new Dyna-Sys components from Shimano. it's a new close ratio gearing system with x10 out back (11-36) and 3 up front (42/32/24) apparently it going to help those who struggle on hills get up more easily and those of us who are more powerful get up the hills faster. Anyone had a go?

So going fromthis, is the Camber just the old FSR XC? A 120mm alloy FS XC/trail bike that starts off cheaper than the Stumpjumper, but the top Camber ends up catching up with the bottom Stumpy. Sounds like a new name rather than a new model

Yep. Makes a bit more sense as the XC tag seems to mean race to a lot of people.

That Hardrock looks a million times better than the range topping Hardrock Pro. Gone up in price by £50 to £599.99. And loses the Rock Shox fork

Hardly adventurous with the colour schemes are they? That red is so garish.

Think I'll post Spesh a Dulux colour chart

Most of their bikes have been seriously gopping over the last couple of years!
Acuallly Super Light is not far out. It is an abbreviation for 'superleggera' which is Italian for (you guessed it) 'super light', so if you prefer to say super light go for it.

Why would an American company use an Italian abbreviation!?

On Rock Shox forks it originally stood for 'Sport Level', generally these days it has come to be associated with 'Super Light' though, but lets be honest, it's a totally pointless set of letters added to make a product sound better!

    Yep, like Comp/Team/Pro/Race etc

    Just differentiates between models.

some of the paint schemes are horrible to say the least they look very cheap and tacky which is a great shame as spesh make excellent bikes, red rims what the feck is all that about.and i have been told that their will be a 10 per cent increase in general, so that means the rockhopper will have gone up almost 50 per cent since 2008, not good at all.

hey dont diss red rims, they look great on the right bike, like mine in my sig :D

ive always found spesh's rather boring looking, but my brothr bought a 2010 hardrock sport and it looks fantastic, the 2010 sx trail looks great too, as do the 2011 evo versions of the enduro and stumpy fsr. the rest of the rnage looks crap tho, either completely garish or just plain old turd coloured
