Right, I know us MTBers are mostly big tarts when it comes to our bikes and colours coding, so I thought I'd ask you lot. Just bought myself a road bike [don't flame] and the bar tape is a little tatty. So I ask you, do I go for white tape again, or change it up and go red? Thoughts please.

White if you're going to keep it clean, if you're not just get black. Dirty bar tape looks rubbish.

Watching the Pro races this year, white seems to be the 'in' colour. Which is why I have black on mine... 8)

If you're going with red, have a look at getting matching hoods for the levers as well for extra tartyness.

    EDIT: Nice bike BTW...

No, don't! The hoods will clash and it'll look gopping!

Nah! Coloured tyres look cheap. When it comes to colour, less is more IMO. Clean white bar tape and saddle will make it look good. Dirty white bar tape and saddle will look crap. If you can't keep it clean, get black, or have a bike that looks cheap/tatty!

It might remind everyone of a barbers pole, but I think that'd look epic (and especially tarty!)

  • White all the way for me.

(unless its the same shade of red as the cages and go faster stripes - red hoods would throw another shade of red in there as well)
    Cheers

As you have a white saddle, the bar tape is required to be white as well.

Quick [and terrible] edit of what it might look like. I can't chose.
