first sportive northern rock cyclone

hi just done my first proper race, after getting the biking bug, i commute daily to work preety flat and do 22 miles round trip, i got a carrera virtuoso second hand for 200 pound and used this on my cyclone race as well as commuting, ive done some 35mile rides up in the north york moors with some decent climbs, as part of my training, i managed 7 hrs 4 mins for the 104 mile race, which i was ver very pleased with, hoping to do more events now,but feel i need a better bike for the hills were i struggled a bit, thinking of a cannondale caad 8 or 9 , any views on these bikes please, many thanks
