hi all
1 yes 1 tooth has decided to loose its top point on my 2nd gear on the rear sprocket and the chain will not stay on it at all
its a rockhopper sl comp 2010 do i need to replace the whole sprocket? is it a warranty issue ( less than 6mths old )?

Can't be replaced as a single bit unfortunately, have to replace the lot if it is giving you trouble.
Not sure about warranty, have rarely seen this happen. Could try of course, but they may argue is a wear and tear part.0 -

On a budget the SHimano Deore, for a bit more the SHimano XT.0

One of these in a 11-34 should be good. A bit cheaper than an XT

You will need a cassette tool and a chain wip (or old chain) to fit it. If you don't have one already the tool kits from halfords/argos/lidl have most of what you need for most jobs0
