Summer 2009 and I was thinking about buying my first proper road bike. I signed up here and posted my short list under 'Which bike?' The Caad9 had a lot of support especially from NapD!

Here's my bike today... with some changes, new wheels (Ksyrium SSC), saddle (Toupe), handlebars (FSA Compact), tape (Fizik), etc I am very happy with it!

    Ok, someone's gotta say it...
Should have removed the saddle bag and pump, prior to the photo!
Also, if possible, turn the front speed sensor, so it in front of the fork. If the sensor gets knocked, or just moves when riding, and hits a spoke! ...
If it's facing forward, it'll just be deflected back out of the way
    Nice colourway, though.
    Enjoy...

I am not convinced about placing the sensor at the front. The manual says put it at the back and I have also tried to push it onto the spokes and the only thing that happens is that its pushed out again, so I don't know where the fuss is! :)

Your wheel didn't want to much it up even with the forward rotation?

My workstand arrived yesterday so I may have an experiment too. A very careful one!

I wouldn't worry about the sensor - unless it's not been fitted properly, it is unlikely to work its way into the spokes for no apparent reason - and if someone is riding close enough to you to knock it into the spokes (actually very difficult in practice - even in a race), then that is probably the last thing you should be worrying about from a damage point of view....
