OT-Favourite cup of tea?

LiT's post about me not being her cup of tea (despite my prior admission to already knowing I'm not) made me think.

What is your favourite cup of tea i.e. brand type of leaf that sort of thing.

Needless to say I'm not as sophisticated as some, so I'm a Twinnings English breakfast tea fan.

Oh and if you're wondering why so much DDD activity, today I'm on strike.

I do enjoy a refreshing Earl Grey, though the majority of my daily consumption is the PG Tips blend.

    Yorkshire Tea.

You can get a strong cup without needing to brew the damn thing.

Fair Trade for me. Most teabags in this country make a decent cuppa to be honest, why is it that the rest of the world struggle with the concept so much? Just try asking for a cup of tea in Latin America. "With milk. But not made of milk. With the milk on the side. But just a bit. And nice and hot. And strong." Hard hard work, good job I was happy to drink coffee there!

Earl Grey or Darjeeling mainly - plus chai with more milk and some sugar (Cafe Nero does very nice chai). Normally organic and fair trade.

I like Dragon Phoenix jasmine green tea pearls. They're quite pricey at £18.60 for 125g though. Other than that, the black chai from my local tea & coffee shop is nice. Then Earl Grey, hot.

Proper green tea - not your Twinnings 'with orange blossom' muck, I'm talking about the stuff from somewhere like Teasmith in Spitalfields, which has recognisable bits of leaf in it and names like Wuyi Dark Rock. It comes with instructions giving the exact temperature the water should be when poured over the leaves. Obviously totally impractical for work consumption, but worth the effort on a Sunday morning.

White tea. Like green tea but without the compost.

I don't actually like iced tea. Or Ice-T for that matter.

Normal tea for warming hydration and a wee bit o'caffeine - Twinings Everyday, or Assam.
After meals - teapigs.co.uk peppermint tea. It's the peppermintiest of all peppermint teas!
Occasionally - jasmine tea or green tea. And tea made from pretty flowers! :D

Can I go for a Long Island iced Tea? - Ok thought not!

Golden Flower then, pick it up when I'm in India, its a mix that includes some darjeeling, is a little sweet, its the only tea I can drink without a sweetner, but still almost as strong as Yorkshire.

Rooibos or peppermint. Having South Africa in-laws means we get regular deliveries of proper rooibos tea too.

Don't have any caffeine anymore as I used to drink strong black tea (pg tips etc) and decided that having several pints worth of that a day was not that healthy.

Quite. Java, by preference... black, no sugar.

Another one for white tea. It's green tea made with the best parts of the tea bush, it's like sencha in Japan. Choc full of polyphenols and other antioxidants. I also like oolong tea when I can get it. Other than that a nice cuppa builders is alright now and then.
