single speed half link chain

I have a single speed jump bike fitted with a Spank Tweet Tweet Offset Half Link chain. Despite using chain tugs I find the chain is still a bit too loose. I want to break the chain and shorten it. Can I use an ordinary chain tool to do this (the one I use on my Shimano chains) and does anyone have any advice? I cannot find any instructions on their website

    Should be OK to use a standard chain splitter
    Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.
