I could be wrong, but aren't those 120mm travel forks a bit too long travel for an xc bike like a stumpjumper? But hey, if it rides well who am I to argue?

I cant think of a better way to spend your free time. Grolch, new bike & Andy McNabs little known book 'SAS bike building'. Good times.

    Top bike mate

you may be quite right but this is not an xc bike, but an xc frame. Coming from a street and dirt background i didn't go all out xc straight away. But thought i would prefer to build an angry xc bike that can take the big hits, but still be light enough to race. Hence the strong wheels and 120 forks. And for me, this combination is working beautifully.

I think what he meant is the frame geometry isn't correct for 120mm forks. And you risk possible frame damage. I'd just run them with some sag to counteract it.
