Shimano Deore HB-M510 front hub bearings.

Decided to take this apart as it's about 7 years old and I've never bothered servicing it.
Noticed there was a gap missing in the ball bearings!

The shimano tech notes says there should be 10 each side of the hub, and I can count 10, but why the big gap?!

Are they the right size bearings?
Some did actually run 11.0 -
This hub has never been opened before so the bearings are the originals from the factory.0
