Haha. Ricco is so bloody good. Queen stage. How did Vino beat Basso on a climb. All these riders were super quality doping or not.

A group sprint; Vino's always been faster than Basso. I would not say this was the queen stage; that has to be the Pampeago finish.
  • Any word on where Gibo finished? Not getting my hopes up, the tea, said he was there to provide "ethusiasm". They should have called me, i'd have done it cheaper.

    Big day for BMC.

As usual Italian race sites are shiite, when it comes to results.
What of Rujano, as well as Gibo?

Usually i am all for giving riders the benefit of doubt and in Riccos case he was entitled to come back. But as for him being clean now .........

This is the problem, if even MG doesn't believe then what sort of Giro are we going to get. I want to enjoy the race but the weight of question marks will be too much to carry, it risks being a three week freak show.

Sorry if I missed something, but Ricco won't be at the Giro will he?

    No. Thank gawd

He was complaining Basso didn't congratulate him on his win a few days ago.

Get real. So a rider beating another by a few metres and a handful of others by a few more (not excactly the best riders around...) means riders are doping?!

The advantages conferred by CERA and other blood-manipulation techniques are massive. See how a modest but effective domestique like Riis became GT contender thanks to EPO, see how Millar has fallen back now he's dropped the old ways.

Ricco was winning with CERA, either he's up to old tricks again or he's training very well.

Is the Giro any different to the Tour?
If you think the Giro has the strong wiff of doping, then
what of the race that will inevitably average a faster speed?
All down to that extra training, I take it.

So by the same logic, all the top 25 or whatever are also doping. Some mediocre/unknown names within 20 secs or so of some proven top riders.

    Stage 4 *Spoiler*

    1. Pozzovivo
    2. Ricco
    3. Pardilla
    4. Vino

I think Vino wins overall. *sicks in mouth*

I watched the climb last night and it was, I'm afraid, extremely suspicious.
At 1.8kms to go, Andrea Noe and Simon Clarke, were still away, grinding up the 12% finishing ramp.
The group behind had been dwindling, driven on by Liquigas. (Syzmd)
Out of this selection shoots Domenico Pozzovivo, like a scalded cat, pedals whirling furiously.
Only Ricco and Vino can go with this pace. Wasn't long before Vino was dropped, unable to live with Pozzovivo's pressure. Ricco lasts longer, but his face is contorted with the effort. The CSF man looks........unaffected.
Ricco falls off and it's all over.

    Son of Sella, IMO.

Rujano made a brief appearance hoovering up the breakaway, before being hoover up himself.
Simoni, crossed the line smiling, waving both hands to the crowd.

He did the last 500m at and average of 11mph. Pretty slow. He looked completely cooked at the end. He didn't put much time into the others.

Beat him there as well. Hilarious GC result with Vino & Ricco virtually tied at the end.
