    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

EVANS is a superb rider. Absolutely brilliant. Very pleased.

Thought Contador had it though looking so majorly comfortable. I guess he made the slight mistake of going to early. Evans is a veteran of this race and knows to leave it until the last possible moment.

Still Contador is killing it. A lovely looking top 10.

The difference being that Cuddles new exactly how to manage his effort. He looked like he was blown, but out lasted FF's love child.

it's true what Aldo Sassi says - Cadel seems to be in a different place mentally this year.

    Bravo!

    Wot? In the Fleche? Never!

Who was the last rider to win solo? I don't think I've ever seen it.

    Astarloa? 2003

Lance won in 2 up sprint one year didn't he? 1993? I think it was against Fignon

Very pleased for Cadel, even if it means nul points in the PTP for me!

A clean winner too, after the Rebellin years....

Nice one Cadel! I think he's won over a lot of people in the last 12 months, myself included.

And my first PTP Classics win of the year!!

A supreme Grand Tour rider who can podium in an Ardennes Classic, pick up summit wins, TT wins, week stage races. Looking forward to seeing him in LBL. He said he didn't have the best legs and thought he had more of a chance to contest on Sunday.

He rode a clever race, the final is all about timing, taking the right line and pacing yourself. Concede a couple of seconds and it's over but go too much into the red and you will lose too. Experience won the day.

    aye

One, two for GB with Nicole Cooke in second place just 8 seconds back on Emma.

That climb at the finish of the Huy de Mur is a killer. I watched Bo Hamburger win the mens race there back in 1998. They run a cable car from the bottom of the climb to the Zoo at the top.

the thing that strikes me about the race today is in hindsight is how many people had a good chance of winning that race...

pretty dam open..hope this extends to LBL

Yeah, I'd love for him to pick that one up, although I would also love Sastre to take it.

Evans is a better 1 day racer than a 3 week racer.
