saddle position hamstrings

Does anyone know or have any experience of whether the fore/aft position of the saddle can affect the hamstrings ?

I suffer from sore knees (at the front) which suggests i may need to move my saddle back a bit but i was wondering if this might actually make the hamstring problem worse.

Any help much appreciated

Jon

Too low a saddle affects the knees, which also has a knock on effect on the rest of the leg.

My inside leg is 31" and I have the saddle at 34" if I drop it even an inch my knees know about it on a long ride.

Potentially if u move it back to its fullest with a lyback u will get more hamstring activity than if at the furthest forward position. Try it, sounds like ur after the lesser of 2 evils. What ur really after is a more comprehensive approach like:
    Fiddle saddle position is fine
Also trychanging pedals to flats or time clip ins with plenty of float to take stress off kness, Exercises to aid knee stability and knee cap tracking may be helpfull, glut exercises can b v usefull for power in the down stroke and take pressure off Quads and hammies, do u have any alignment problems that may be aided with specialised footbeds or orthotics......
Couple of 5 spots, a hummer and a handjob.....
