If you still want the old Pro carbon frame it looks like you now have to buy forks as an extra putting the price up by quite a bit. Weird that. You'd think the price would come down now the new frame has 'arrived'.0

Elsewhere on the forum a member of Planet X staff blurted out that the frame's made by Taiwan's Xpace. Judging by the geometry of the FM-R830 it's off-the-peg stuff. I wouldn't mind the SL version if the price is right. I wonder if the poor fellow who disclosed the manufacturer still has his job...0

The price is no different for the SL Carbon than it has been for the last week or two, the only difference is it's no longer a frameset.
I wonder if we could job lot some of the Xpace R830 frames?!0 -
Doesn't strike me as being the same value proposition as the old £399 SL frameset option.
Glad I got my SL Pro Ultegra before the new site went up - it's gone up £100 to £1199 (and I was pissed off that they'd raised the price from £999 as reviewed by BR!)0 -

Actually Dave from Planet X wrote with this info on the forum a while back - he was quite honest about how/where/why they source their frames. He also said they are supposed to have a UK exclusive on the frame - but I did see someone on ebay selling them for about £400 for a frame and forks at the time - not sure if they're able to get them now. Dave was very bullish about the quality of this new frame and they have had great feedback from the pro-riders who've been testing them .... Cycling Plus weren't so complimentary though in their bike of the year test - but one review doesn't necessarily mean much.

I'm not sure that this was the same guy (I deleted the listing from my ebay - so can't find it again now) - but it's easy enough to set up a search on ebay .... to let you know when one comes up.

They look different to the new Planet X Nanocarbon and clearly you are buying from an eBay seller and not a highly reputable company based in the UK with all the benefits that offers.
I am getting one of these as a frameset at the end of this month for sure only problem is black or white?0
