A clean bike is much more pleasant when repairing PF visits
Riding on a semi flat tyre into a headwind is hard work
Not cleaning your cassette will fook it proper good
Not to ignore squeaks, crunching or any other unusual noises coming from the bike

It's been a busy week
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

A battery-powered door buzzer can be used in place of a bike bell/horn.

OK if you live, and ride, in a velodrome then?

Just realised that this will work within 30 yards of any home with a compatible door buzzer :-)

Once I have shifted into the big ring, pushing the shifter again is likely to pull the head off the cable. Doh!

Posted here, as everyone is studiously ignoring my other thread. Oh well, that's democracy for you.

My wife was right and an additional 2cm can make the difference between a feeling of general discomfort and overwhelming joy; I changed my stem this morning.

How thick was I a couple of weeks ago? Rode past a tree where a car had obviously crashed, glass everywhere, saw it too late to avoid it. Then I'm riding along thinking "lucky I didn't get a flat" about half a mile later I'm thinking "what's that odd clicking sound" but ignore it. about a minute later, the tyre is clearly going flat. Clicking was clearly glass in the outer, which eventually thanks to my stupid neglect went and cut the tyre. So if you see glass and hear a click - stop and pull it out!

If you see glass, stick your hand on the tyre whilst moving....takes practice and don't put your hand anywhere near where if might be dragged under the brakes......

A clean bike is also faster......

Doing 40-odd miles with just a banana and a bottle for sustenance is very very silly. Felt very bad indeed.

Overpriced garage forecourts are good for something though

This week I learnt that a Hope steel road BB is WAAAY easier to ride than a cheap FSA BB. I've never gone so fast up hill in my life (no tailwind either and thats a first at this one location) :)

When wearing a new wetsuit make sure that you lubricate the back of your neck or it will be sore for the next two days.

I put on shoes. It rains.

I'll have to mow the lawn barefoot and possibly naked. It's a private garden but I suspect my elderly, caravan owning neighbours may have a collective heart attack.
