    ASO don't seem too impressed but on the other hand, they could have been told to sit out these races in return for a berth in July. Only with that hypothesis I can't see both of these teams getting a ride, only one could get in. Skil-Shimano had their go last July.

    Vacansoleil knew they had to impress in Paris-Nice but they were absent. Unless Brice Feillu does something special in Corsica this weekend, their chances look slim.

    They are Belgian teams and these are Belgians races. There's probably a quota of Belgians riders that needs to be fulfilled (there's one for French riders in the Tour).

    Hopefully they are being told not to burn out pre-July.

    It has happened so many times that teams flog themselves for a wild card and then can't perform in the Tour.

    Hope you're right, jimmy- I love it when the 'smaller' teams get an invite to play with the big boys in the Tour.
