best value bike

dont worry about price, it can be £5000 if you want, im just thinking about pure VFM, only RRp's please, and no old deals, 09 and '010 bike only.....


im gonna vote for Boardman pro FS (or is it team? its the £1300 one....)

or GT Agressor Elite

or Carrera fury.


Worryingly these are all Halfrauds bikes :?

    yes, but no..... i said RRP'S!!!!

    im thinking abouth best value bikes when they are factory fresh in a main dealership..... at RRP... anyway, yes that iron horse is divine, and yes it was a mental deal...

    My bike? rockrider 5 xc- £370 from decathlon, avid juicy 3's, sram x5 rear mech and shifters, shimano front mech, sr suntour xcr forks suntour xcm cranks, 1.9 kg 6061 alu frame.
    They don't sell it any more, but was a pretty good deal.
    the next model p is good value too- £500 for the rockrider 8.1: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/rockrider-8-1-66759353/
    spec: 1.65 kg (large) double thickness frame, rockshox tora 302cl with remote lockout, truvativ firex 3.1 cranks, wellgo clipless pedals, juicy 3's, sram x7 f/r mechs, x5 shifters, michelin xc all terrain tyres, 12.6 kg in large with pedals- amazing spec for that price

    WHAT? Why you only interested in RRP? That is just plain daft because RRP should actually be the highest price in a perfect consumer world. i.e. Specialized is illegally price fixed to RRP. Best VFM comes from the best available price re correct competition and not illegal practices.

    that fully xt equipped genius ultra on crc for 800 quid, just for the components!
    Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.

    It still amazes me how they can but a bike together for that much. When you look at all the individual pieces. For the same price as a Fox float, or a Pace HT frame.
