We'll be out next weekend generally buffing and fixing the uphill arm of the Quarry Trail in Ashton Court. If you're around come and lend a hand.

This section is getting really mullered - the pic below shows it during the dry weather a couple of weeks ago, so it's probably a 10 foot wide mudbath by now:

But we've got loads of stone to play with so it should fix up nicely. :wink:

    Good luck guys, we're in repair rather than build mode at Gisburn too. Surprising how much stone you have to shift to fix a trail isn't it :shock:

    Pah, we had 260 tonnes delivered two weeks ago :shock: Only moved about 15 tonnes with 20 of us, six wheel barrows and two power barrows last week though :cry:

    That's them, unfortunately ours aren't quite that sophisticated, they don't self load, but they do have tracks like that.

    We occasionally use a little Muck Truck that one of the volunteers owns. It's great but it I can imagine it would struggle in the depths of winter. According to the pro trail buillder chappy who occasionally helps us out, wheeled ones are quicker than tracked ones, and the self-tipping types can be a bit of a 'mare due to their higher centre of gravity.

    But I digress. :lol:
