A quick scan through my iphone for the 'riding tunes' playlist.

    Ace of Spades - Motorhead.
    Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit
    Brainstorm - Artic Monkeys
Brown Paper Bag - Roni Size
The Bucket - Kings of Leon
Chop Suey - System of a Down
    Cornerstone - Artic Monkeys
    D.O.A. - Jay-Z
    Don't Fear the Reaper - Heaven 17
Electric Feel (Justice Remix) - MGNT
    Faint - Linkin Park
I bet you look good on the dance floor - Artic Monkeys
I feel love - Donna Summer
It's Bigger than HipHop - Dead Prez
Joker and the Theif - Wolfmother
Killing in the Name (Merry Christmas) - Rage against the Machine
Kings and Queens - 30 Seconds to Mars
Little Sister - Queens of the Stone Age
Mama Said Knock you out - LL Cool J
    Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
Red Morning Night - Kings of Leon
    Reptilia - The Strokes
    Rocks - Primal Scream
    Sabotage - Beastie Boys
She Builds Quick Machines - Velvet Revolver
    Slither - Velvet Revolver
    St. Anger - Matalica
This is a call - Foo Fighters
The View from the Afternoon - Artic Monkeys
    We come 1 - Faithless
Whole lotta love - Led Zeppellin
    Women - Wolf Mother

None exactly chosen for their soothing lyrics or down-tempo beats. I love anything fast, arggessive and loud. when I'm riding, some of them I'd never dream of playing at any other time.

I just stick on either Chemical Brothers whole collection or Infected Mushroom
  • Just about anything by Slayer, early Metallica, or early Nine inch nails does the trick for me.

+1 GnR Sweet Cild o' Mine.
Makes me ride like a demon but am usually in tears by the end!!!
  • Anything by the tresor label
+1 for infected mushroom plus other psytrance usually does the job
on a more rock orientated flavour Rage Aganst the Machine never fail
    Gogol Bordello
    Iggy
    Ramones ...
The Fall can be quite good as well especially their earlier stuff

Motown and Stax can usually be really good when not a ballad...think land of a 1000 dances by Wilson Pickett

countless others I can't remember at the moment.. need to check my non Apple MP3 player

mind you I usually don't listen to anything offroad mostly if I'm back on the commute...it's been a while or just having a tarmac spin on teh way to a track
Enough bikes to open a bike shop but always room for one more...

    Contractor - Lamb of God
    F**king Hostile - Pantera
    Whiplash - Metallica

All crazily fast, all good when heading to a downhill spot

  • was going to advocate Crass' "You've got big hands" but thought i'd best have a listen first to check. yep, that's the one - i'm twitching from the adrenalin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYyF4ouMBE4

a grab bag of Crass, Flux Of Pink Indians, Stiff Little Fingers, F***ked Up, Sensa Yuma, Subhumans and Ghost Of A Thousand and i'm getting anywhere a good 30% faster (then collapsing) - there ain't no angry like righteously angry
