If you are back for 5pm you won't need lights. Depends on the weather. I was over the Settle part of the route last Sunday and it was v.cold (still snow on t'hills) and some of the back roads were a bit greasy.

  • Im going to give it a miss this year.

Lost too many training miles with the snow so im going to just do a club run instead!

Hope the weathers kind..long slog in February in bad weather!
Riding wise ive been Making Mediocre cool since 2003.

    HIGHLIGHT..Raid Pyrenean 2005!!!

    LOWLIGHT..To many to mention!!!
  • was planning to do this but seen the forecast and don't fancy the icy roads so will have to give it a miss

just got back - good ride and a long day (135 miles by the end)

cold+fog at the start but cleared by Gisburn then beautiful blue skies

snow at the end by Rochdale!

How bad are the roads around Rochdale?

    It was like mountainbiking sometimes.

  • Yeah great ride. I was like Contador til the turn at the Roebuck and then I was like my grandma. The pie at the end was the most delicious I've had in years.

Ice crystals on eyelashes, frozen water bottles so no water for an hour or more. Awesome.
