I've never met you so I'm only judging from your posts but I reckon what you really want now is an 'unjustifiable' bike.

Every other bike in your somewhat extensive stable has a purpose and can be justifiied.

You now want a bike which you can fall in love with, a bike only be taken out for Sunday best, in exactly the right climatic conditions, never in rain or direct sunlight.

If only you knew a group of keen cyclists who owned a variety of such bikes and would allow you to test ride them.

That's not to say you shouldn't buy the Colnago frame though. I'm sure you have enough components about to build up a great bike.

You know what you're right but my Trek with the modifications is already that bike, it's fast enough for to keep up with even the best carbon sportifs - in short I've not out classed my bike just yet, when I do I'll consider carbon.

Picture that rocky movie were Sly was running in the snow and lifting logs whilst old what's his name, tall bloke had all the kit and drugs, see what I mean?

Imagine how easy it would have been if Rocky had access to all those drugs...

Maybe you could do more than keep up :D

Couldn't find this on the site, so here goes: there's 10 GBP off a 50 GBP+ order from Wiggle via Paypal here:

    https://www.paypal-offers.co.uk/displayMerchant.do?page=merchant&aid=1&mid=26171&type=1121&subtype=-1

Linked as "Paypal offers" from the Paypal website, then "Sports & Outdoors"

Looks like it runs out on the 11th (two days!) and you might need to suffer the perniciousness of Paypal..
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.

I've no idea whether this is a bargain, but a Cervelo R3 SL Dura Ace down from £4k to £2.6k at Sigma Sports. I stared longingly at it.

Repost from a thread in the Road section, exactly the sort of thing I was thinking off when I started the thread.

Now if I had £280 this would be a no brainer, just crying out for a bit of campagnolo

Dunno, the guys at Rabobank seemed to have good success running them with Shimano... ;)

  • Not quite what you're thinking of WMC but I've just paid 50p in Halfords for a commuter briefcase.

It fits my laptop and a couple of files nicely and looks decent enough for wandering straight into a meeting with. brilliant.

I've already got one but it's looking a bit battered now. It cost me about £25 a couple of years back.

Coz I need another bike

FYI ribble sell 10 speed Xenon shifters + campag cables for £49 now that's a bargain add that to campag crankset, derailleurs and BB from GBcycles and you have yourself one hell of a fine bike for BSO prices.

Been mooching round t'interwebs today, idly wondering how much bike I could buy with the money I've spent on an engagement ring when I came across this stonking deal from Pearson - Di2 Felt Z2 for £2999. Obvio not a bargain, but they are offering if with a £1500 reduction...

    I'm almost tempted!!

I know they are older frames, but as far as I know it's only the colours that have changed:
