I'm back at work tomorrow and commuting on the bike. For only the 2nd time since 5th November and the first time since end of november.

I've only ridden 37 miles in that time, so my 25 mile a day commute is going to come as a shock to the system, but a very welcome shock.

Am I sad in being excited at going to work?

    Welcome back to the club.

It's not sad at all... after missing a week due to snow i was itching to get back to bike commuting.

  • Hurrah for you Spen! :D

No, it's not weird to be excited, I really miss my cycle commute, despite the fact that I now work mostly from home and it sounds very cushty. It was a great way to get some exercise into my day.

    Good luck!
  • LIT, you could always do a five mile loop at the start and end of the day, as a fake commute to work!

That's what I do although I'm only "commuting" once a day until the days stretch a bit more.

I know exactly where you're coming from - restarting commuting again for the first time in 5 weeks, due to snow, Christmas then an operation on my leg. Got the stitches out on Thursday, had a practise ride today and it all seems fine, can't wait to get up in the morning even though it will be freezing!

I've been especially desperate because I've replaced the hybrid with a Tricross which I've only ridden once so far - been doing loads of fettling and can't wait to use it in anger.
