    Hi,
Google Dursley Pedersen. You'll be amazed.

Saw something like that in Little Malven once - that was a metal garden gate converted into a bike

Pedersen frame and v-brakes, QR wheels and cotterless chainset. Must be factory standard then :?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I have seen pictures of a guy using one of those frames for mountain biking  Aparently, they are quite strong as they are based on the structure of bridges

I bought my first pair of Sidis from the bike shop in Dursley - they had one in there at the time.

  • Don't Pashley or some other current manufacturer make one like this now?

(EDIT) Nope, Pashley making it was just my imagination, but go to http://www.pedersenbicycles.com and you'll find all you might want to know.

Is it the latest addition to your stable?

Whoever owns it might also want to adjust that rear light, not sure pointing at the ground is the best position for it!

@redvee - You get the observation award, I had to go double check to spot the V's :-)

Ah, no, you see its only angled like that for ease of getting on the bike. In use, the telescopic head tube compresses and the light will be at the right angle.

The Pedersen may be the most beautiful bicycle you have ever seen. With clean lines, an elegant shape, and a structure that appears delicate and sophisticated, the Pedersen is another wonderful example of scandinavian design.

One of my colleages actually saw someone mount (if that is he right verb) one of these and pedal off by the launderette on Pitfield Street in Hoxton before Christmas. If I remember rightly the rider did look vaguely Scandinavian.

Looking at the frame and the seat I think its designed to flex and take the load as a spring in the fore aft direction.

A neighbour of mine has one

    See also http://www.dursley-pedersen.net/

The idea is that it's supremely comfortable with an upright sit-up-and-beg riding position. The hammock seat helps.
