Fatty Ultra DLR fork problems

Can anyone help with some queries on the above fork, 2006 model. It's only done about 1000 miles.
How often should the air need topping up?
I've put in the correct air pressure for my weight but the fork compresses about 20mm with me stationary on it. Things improve if I put far more pressure in it than the chart says I should.
Anyone got any info re servicing/working on this fork?
How easy is it to work on??
